For years the Takoma Station Tavern has been an icon for music of all genres in Washington, D.C. Musicians from Stevie Wonder to Wynton Marsalis and many more have graced the stage there. In recent years it has been an ongoing project to bring the Jazz genre back to elite status at Takoma Station. This past September started the Sunday Evening Jazz that brought two DC jazz S heroes to the stage, Paul Carr and Marshall Keys (Carr Keys). In October brought Trombonist Reginald Cyntje. This month brings The Lionel Lyles Quintet. Join the LLQ as the ensemble continues in the tradition on Takoma Station and take you, the listener, on a musical journey as they bring you original compositions as well as original arrangements.
